After an amazing lineup of fall performances at 3 Book of Mormon Conventions, I have been busy with around 2 performances a week since then. Christmas concerts and musical numbers are really a joy to do.
Just this week I sang for an hour at the downtown Mesa AZ post office for the customers waiting in line to mail packages. I sang mostly Amy Grant or Karen Carpenter Christmas tunes and of course some old favorites like "White Christmas", but also featured a few of the songs from my CDs. How fun it is to see hearts soften and faces brighten up as they listen to music with the spirit of Christ. Most refreshing is to notice how all children respond with a ready smile and love in their eyes when they see me singing.
By the way, if anyone is interested in getting a discount on my CD's, just go to my website and you will see a special with a phone number to call. They make great gifts for friends or visiting teachees.

It has been an exciting and informational experience to sing at the two recent Book of Mormon Evidences conferences with Rod Meldrum, Bruce Porter, Wayne May and Kieth Merrill. I have enjoyed meeting some great folks and hearing compelling evidence that quite possibly the events of the Book of Mormon took place in the North American Continental area. I hope that if you have any curiosity, you will visit the website, and read for yourself the scriptural, textual, archaelogical and dna evidences that have come forth.

Amazingly enough, I had the chance to be at Dodger Stadium on Mormon night after making the top 6 finalists out of over 500 auditions. My audition video is the link here, but the pictures show that it was indeed an honor to be there with Elder Ballard and enjoy the night. I am glad Shea Owens was able to sing the anthem, as he did the most awesome job and is so deserving of the opportunity!

What a fabulous experience! I had the privilege of doing a musical presentation for the kids from Northern AZ just before Sis Ann M. Dibb spoke. I sang 6 songs and shared my testimony with the most amazing kids. There was a great outpouring of the spirit and we were all uplifted together. Sister Dibb shared a great message and stories about her father, Pres. Thomas S. Monson. What a special evening. In the picture are LtoR-Sis Petersen, Sis Dibb, Me and Sis Becky Oldroyd.

For this Father's day, I am preparing to help my kids honor the wonderful Dad in our home, my husband Sterling Baer. He has done amazing things to inspire and lead the way for our 6 children.
But for this blog, I want to honor my own father, Vince Wood, a wonderful Dentist from Northern Calif who loved to hear me sing Karen Carpenter tunes back in High School. He is the one who really encouraged me to sing, following in the footsteps of my Mother, who has an amazing natural contralto solo voice. He also sang in Music Theatre and Men's Quartet groups, but deferred to my Mom for the stronger talent. I think they made a great musical match and I was so happy to be able to finally record a Carpenters number on this last album,
You're Worth It All
I want to dedicate it to him. He will be enjoying it from the more heavenly realms where I'm sure they have a beyond awesome surround sound system!

You can't beat recording with your kids. Dan, the engineer commented that he was surprised how well we got along in the studio...did he have a glimpse into their childhood? Of course we had our loud-crazy-dinnertime-when-everyone-talks at-once days. But now that they are 'on their own', they are back to being my best friends. This is TYLER, or T-Baer as his friends know him, recording "If I were Brave" from my new CD, "You're Worth It All". I think he added just the right lift for this awesome song.'re-worth-it-all

If you didn't get to attend, the Benefit Concert for Christian and Stephanie Nielson on Sat went great! The house was sold out and all the performers were wonderful. It was fabulous to have Brooke White perform, one of my former student friends from Heritage Academy who was on American Idol last yr. She was so comfortable with the audience and played piano and sang a few tunes. Over all it went great. We all got to meet Christian Nielson and hear an update from him on his family. I was grateful to be included in this concert for this sweet family and also mention Doug Kinneard who tragically died in the same crash. We love him and his family.

IT'S FINALLY HERE and it's for you!

I can't believe the CD finally arrived today. It is so fulfilling after writing, revising, recording demos and final cuts to be finished. I hope that sometime I can share the stories behind the songs and the album itself. But let me just say here that I know, I really know that this album was meant to be for some folks going through a very hard time. It has been made clear to me so I hope those who need it will come and listen and fill their cup. It comes with Love from me to whoever will listen.

I hope that everyone gets a chance to go see the Arizona Easter Pageant if you can.
People from around the country come each year to see the amazing pageant, hear the music, see the reenactment of the Greatest story ever told and feel it's transcendant spirit. Don't miss it.
I have been able to be backstage and in the multitude with my family this year and understand the humble people that come sacrifice and make it happen each year because they love the Lord.
What a wonderful service.

Last weekend was great to be able to work at Soularium Studios in Alpine with Dan Carlisle.
He does a great job and we finished all the final mixes on the new album. I also got to redo 3 vocals because the last time I was there I had a bit of hoarseness in my voice. How wonderful it was to be able to have a clear voice again to record the songs I love.
I am anxious for many of my family and friends to hear the music because I think it will bring joy to them on days when they need a lift.
This week the music has gone to Barry Gibbons at Platinum Studios for Mastering and then it will be replicating for the next 2 weeks. Can't wait!!!

Hey guys,
Just so excited to be finishing up this new musical project and for people to hear it. It's like a big secret that I get to share with everyone! I hope you all like it after all the effort it has taken. But either way, I know I have done my best on it and I guess that is all I can ask for.
I hope that you will all come on here and let me know as soon as you have a favorite song from the album.
